I took a bucket of stubs to the dumpster today at work, there was over 100lbs of 6010 5p in opened metal boxes, they are damp not soaked. Can they be dried out and used for practice ?
Reply:They sure can. Lay them out and let air dry over night, then have fun. Dont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400

Reply:Seems like a thread earlier this year demonstrated or stated someone immersed them before using them. Reply:A lot of the old timers used to keep a wet rag and wipe the 6010 rod with it before welding.
Reply:6010 need about 5% moisture in the coating. You can run them under a tap and wring them out or wipe them off and you're good to go. When they are too dry they don't weld worth a crap and will actually catch on fire. 6010/6011 are the only rods that can be improved by moisture.
