I bought a used Harris model 16 cutting torch with cutwelder gauges.  The torch and gauges are in good condition. The hose is dry rotted. I also received full tall tanks for the o/a.  He ran the torch and it worked great.  I am going to be building a little fence but having to cut drill stem pipe for the fence. The info on the torch says up to 4 inch.  A couple of questions, will this torch cut drill stem pipe, also what are the best hoses to purchase and what length is the best for hobby use.  The cart with bottles is pretty heavy so I dont want to be moving it all the time. .  Thanks for your help.  I purchased the torch, starter, guages, bottles, and a cart for $150. Thanks
Reply:Also the guages say cutwelder, oxygen is 101-100c and then 101-15c
Reply:A 25 foot hose ought to be adequate for most applications.  Gives you a little room to play with.Harris tips come in different sizes according to how thick the material is.  You should just about cover everything you'll want to cut with a O, 2/0, and a 3/0 tip.  These three will cover everything from light guage sheet to 5/8 plate.  You can get larger tips that will cut up to 2 inch thick material.Harris has a very short pre-heat flame so you'll have to keep the tip pretty close to the metal you're cutting.  You'll get used to it.  Harris is generally more economical on gas too.Sounds like you got a great deal.  Happy cutting"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
