Reply:Are they 4 1/2 inch corded grinders? If so, a good price. I'm not sure whether they have a different sized arbor than other grinders."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:Check here first, to see if its really that good of a deal. This is the official Bosch factory outlet for tools. If they are remanufactured ones, which they could well be, than the Bosch price is pretty low all the time.http://bosch.cpotools.com/reconditio...ngle_grinders/They sell the 1375 for only $40 each.
Reply:They've had the Bosch "Contractor pack" for awhile now with the 2 bosch grinders in the box. I bought one about 8 months ago, and overall they have been pretty good grinders. I generally run the 9amp grinders, but these are good medium duty work. I personally do not care for the side switch, some prefer it. They were new grinders, and for $100 a set I have been pretty satisfied.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:well looking into it more it would appear that the crappy hf grinders i have been using for years are only 4.8 amps. the bosch may just be a treatMillermatic 211weldpack 3200 squirtgunsquare wave 200victory journeyman kitHypertherm 30xptoo much other crap to listtinkerer extraordinaire
Reply:This is the typical Home Depot "Deal".they sell you two grinders, for $50 each, that Bosch sells direct for $40, and you can buy one at a time from Bosch. These are the 6 amp models, which is the smallest, least powerful grinder Bosch makes.Home Depot is typically more expensive than real lumberyards, or real tool stores. But they make you think it MUST be cheap, cause its in a warehouse.Splurge on an 8 amp Bosch, only 80 or 90 bucks- they last me years, and we work em REAL hard.
Reply:I guess it's a toss up. Sometimes on line prices are really good until you factor in the shipping. It pays to be a real careful shopper these days.I'm lookin' to buy a 3.5x12 hyd. cyl. right now, and I've found that the prices are cheaper online, but with shipping it's about the same as buying the cyl. at the local ag supply. Plus I give a little money back to the community I live in when I buy here.Lower amperage might be ok if you let the grinding wheel do the work instead of really bearing down on the tool. It tears up the gear train, and it has a tendancy to glaze the grinding wheel making it less efficient."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Oh, BTW.Look at the switch. You will be safer with a "dead man" paddle switch that disconnects if the grinder gets away from you and your hand is no longer on the switch.I like my little DeWalt 4 1/2 for that feature."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:yeah and watch where ya go with it. anything concerning mines and quarries cannot have a locking trigger. and i agree, i hate grinding so i let the grinder do the work.
Reply:Amen. Gotta scar on my knee to prove it."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:i got two dewalts at homedepot for $99, and they are 9 amp.6 amp would bore me waiting to get done.
Reply:farmersamm, i am finding internet shipping prices are higher than 6 months ago which makes local look better.i just cant find much local. |
