TIG project - Aluminum Flower Pot

One of my first aluminum TIG projects is a simple flower pot.It is 5 pieces 5" x 5", with a cutout top. Pretty easy build, it holds water, and my wife really likes it.And with Christmas on the way, hmmmm . . . Reply:Thanks for the nice comments, Gamble and Surfside.You are right Virginia.There are always guys on here looking for projects to practice on or items to make and sell. This could be one of those. Not expensive if you can get some scrap from a local fabricator and lots of people would pay $19-29 at a local market or craft fair. I may build a wooden stand to go around it. You could plasma cut a lacey design on the top edge or cut someone's name on it. Make a bigger lip and paint flowers on it, or put the name of the plant on the side. If I knew how to make those metal roses and flowers you could put some in it. Lots of ways to go with this, besides making one for your wife/girlfriend may get you out of the doghouse. Or you could scale it up or down to make other useful items like a place to put pens and pencils on your desk. Someone suggested you could mount it in a wall with a door on the top to make a small wall safe to hide jewelry.
