I bought a used Miller Maxstar 200 DX from a garage sale and have a lot to learn in order to start using it.It has a power cord with a big black rectangular solid plug at the end of it with 4 straight prongs (3 long, 1 short). I would like to replace it with a 240 volt connector, so I can connect it to my portable Generac generator. Does anyone know if this Miller machine has auto power sensing? or do I have to open it up and reconnect the cable internally so I can use my gererators 240 volt output.
Reply:Be easier to help if you post a picture of your existing plug.  Most 240 plugs have two flats and a round.  Are you sure it's not a 3 phase machine.
