potentiometer for thermal arc 8 pin foot pedal

i got an used thermal arc 300 gtsw, i am in the process of converting a 7 pin everlast foot pedal. i want to find out what kind of potentiometer that i need. from this forum, i learned that i need 5k ohms potentiometer. do i need to add some capacitors to potentiometer?wondering if anyone has mouser, allied, digikey or radioshack part numbers for potentiometer. i looked at ebay, i see some potentiometer for audio devices. can i use mouser part 785-380C35000:http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/...U7OXeTcw5LE%3dthanks, i really appreciate your help.Last edited by silica; 08-21-2013 at 01:50 PM.Reason: corrected url
Reply:That should work just fine I have used the other pots on that page.785-53C35K   both are linear taper which is what you want.  I don't think you will need any caps unless they are needed for noice reduction to ground.  The pot is used in a voltage divider function.
