I picked up this #10 Bateman Presshear today. It has been at my welding supplier's for 5 yrs. I wanted it, but the guy wanted 1500 dollars and wouldn't budge. The company changed owners about 3 yrs ago-- I thought I would get it then. But the guy still wanted 1500 bucks. Finally, I went Monday a guy who rent space asked the owner about the press. They let it go for 750. I owe the renter lunch I told him I would pay 800The many of the dies are new. The dirty appearance of the shear blades is the disentegrated oil/paper from the original wrapping. The machine does have a safety guard. Here is a link to how the unit look, same machine. http://www.rogers-mfg-inc.com/ I'm excited. It punches and shears effortlessly through 1/4" steel.Last edited by tapwelder; 12-19-2008 at 12:51 AM.
Reply:Good deal! Finally huh?Five years and three owners... You were stalking it! The commission was fifty bucks well spent. Some people get hung up on paying commission, or ransom, or profit on a deal, when another buyer gets something they've been waiting for. But really, most often it's a better deal than if they had bought directly from the original seller.Should be a useful shop tool for you. Can't wait to see the test run! Good Luck
