Anybody else hate it when the leather cover works it's way down from the tig torch end exposing the hose bundle going into the torch?  Can't stand it---I just know Murphy is around the corner waiting to cause chaos!  Take that Murphy!!!  1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:If that was my only solution I would rather take the cover off than have to handle the zip tie. To me it is sort of the same as using an air hose someone secured with a hose clamp.Duck tape would be better.
Reply:i zip tie mine just inside the handle / cover .... cant stand the zip tie catching on a glove or edge.  still not ideal as the zip tie does work down overtime.AWS CWI xxxx21711968 SA200  Originally Posted by WelderMike  I hate being bipolar, It's awesome.
Reply:I have small hands so the ziptie location is a non-issue, and duct tape leaves residue.  1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! HTP Invertig 400HTP Invertig 221HTP ProPulse 300HTP ProPulse 200 x2HTP ProPulse 220MTSHTP Inverarc 200TLP HTP Microcut 875SC
Reply:I use Oetiker clamps on air hoses and cover the crimp ring with shrink tube. These rings crimp pretty low and by the time the shrink tube is set there are no sharp edges. They would work very well in a tig hose application also.I have this kit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Oetiker-1850..._Tools&vxp=mtrSlobPurveyor of intimate unparalleled knowledge of nothing about everything.Oh yeah, also an unabashed internet "Troll" too.....
Reply:I would try lacing wire or heat shrink. I would think it is in abusive situations that these things tend to matter more. Abusive= I did not pay for it.I never saw the need to cover a tig torch. I only have my leads with much more delicate wires covered. I can't in my head think of how they are but I don't believe I  even have them running up to their termination. It just seems so less likely of something going wrong there than in the middle.Last edited by mikecwik; 12-30-2014 at 09:11 PM.
Reply:Another CK torch fan! Love that stuff, best in the world. I am super hard on my TIG torches, and I mean abusive, and they are tough. I wrap mine with allot of tape, of the electrical persuasion. Just got a new CKC150 with the stainless torch body and twist neck gas valve and superflex lead, my third one. Everyone who sees it wants one, and sold every other one to fellow hands.Constant Current Weldor.
Reply:twist stainless tie wire around it a couple times then cinch it up, this way it sits completely flush.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
Reply:I always cut zip ties with either flush cutters or nail clippers to avoid the little sharp nipple you always get when you snip them with side cutters.  I can't stand reaching into a crowded engine bay or something and getting scratched by a sloppily cut zip tie.
Reply:Push the ends with the zip tie inside the handle. That's what I did. I also hate my leather covers. I will take the zip one up any day over leather.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer

Reply:I use a real tiny zip tie at work and then I run electrical tape around it a bunch of times so it cant bite me or rip a hole in something.I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
Reply:Clamp Tite Tool.  I use one all the time at work.http://www.clamptitetools.net/
Reply:I have the vinyl tig hose cover and it already comes with the zip tie at the end with a pocket for it....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:I also thought about using those automotive spring clamps, and then simply removing the stubs used to open them.  Just can't find them locally in the plated variety, just rust-prone mild steel crap.Like these 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig!
