Not sure this is the correct subforum, but I was researching these two machinesas possibilities for a first AC TIG machine. The TA185 is more expensive butapparently is more tunable than the Diversion.Any opinions or other machine possibilities?
Reply:This is an easy "pocket book" decision..............If you have an extra $1000, the 185 is a great machine. But my Division 165 is serving me well for a home hobby TIG.Roy BDartmouth, Mahttp://www.rvbprecision.comMM 185 MIGDiversion 165Purox W200 O/AGrizzly 9957 MillGrizzly 4030 Metal Band SawGrizzly 1050 Knife Belt SanderJet 1236 Metal LatheCM 14" Metal Band SawTP Blast Cabinet
Reply:TA-185 hands down. Yeah, its more money, but look at the duty cycle and what it will do.I have the TA........David Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Two issues in the Diversion's favor are the Torch (cool hand control) and Miller reliability. Are these important or not significant? |
