i mostly have dealt with 6061. but im looking to make and intake manifold for my car and want to bend some tubing instead of cut weld, cut weld, cut weld to get a turn. U- bends are nice, but dont always give you the shape you are looking for...it will be 1.75 inch O.D. and 1.50 I.D. giving the tubing an 1/8 inch wall thickness. wich aluminum should i go with? 4043? the metal dosnt need to be as strong as 6061 since it will not have any stress put upon it. the throttle bodies that will be sitting on it only weighs about 1 pound. so im only concerned about the bendability (if thats a word), weldability, and finished look of the metal.any idea of wich aluminum to go with and where to get it? the local metal suppliers around here deal mostly with large bulk and big companies. so im not really able to go and pick some up...Lincoln Square Wave 175 TIGLincoln 110v flux core welder (my 1st)Clarke 180EN MIG |
