Got to the shop this AM and really wanted to finish a job I started yesterday and before it got too hot and muggy here..BUT!I turned the machine on..Hit the pedal..Gas...Check!Water...Check!Hi Freq...Check!Ground cable attached...Check!But NO welding current! Here we go again.I knew what it was right away..The last time I replaced the power cable was Nov. 2010...And that one broke in the EXACT same place...Am I the only one that has this happen? So wait until 7:30 for the LWS to open and all is good again..Glad I 'aint buying these.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:was that the torch-end of a water-cooled tig cable?  if so, kinda makes sense since that would be the hottest part where the heat originates. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:Could it be corrosion? Tap water is pretty harsh on hot copper.Actually my ground cable ends look like that when the crimp loosens and the copper gets flaming hot.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li  ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:That looks like that hard plastic hose that doesn't like flexing allot. Can you find a real rubber hose?
Reply:Interesting. We were just talking about this on another thread today.Question: Can/do you normally replace the copper cable, or is it time for a whole new [whatever]?
