I just got a Miller 212 (lightly used) with 75/25 gas mix and I seem to be getting a lot of spatter. I have had a Century 160 amp mig for over 20 years but I have always wanted a Miller machine. The wire is .035 ESAB ER70, a very large spool that is less than 20% used, so it could be fairly old. This is the model previous to the autoset version and it is the original wire spool and gas bottle. I know part of my problem might just be getting used to a different machine than I am used to but any sugguestions you guys have would be great.
Reply:Assuming you're running GMAW, it can be associated with excess power input, bad gas/too much or too little, inpurities in the filler or base metal....just to name a few possibilities.City of L.A.
