At work we have a bunch of Lincoln Precision Tig 225s (or 275s? can't remember) and an old Miller Syncrowave 180SD.I'm a Lincoln guy myself, but I've been using the Miller the last couple months and although it has a built-in post flow of way too long, that is a waste of gas, I *LOVE* the instant arc-starting ability of it.  As soon as you push down on the pedal, there's an arc. With the Lincolns, there's a delay between the time you start the pedal and the time the arc starts.  You CAN have it instant, but only if the time before your last arc is less than a certain time (~1 second).  It really screws me up when I'm doing a bunch of tacks (50+) in a row, and get into a rhythm, and if I pause too long between tacks, it doesn't give me the arc right away.Is there a way to set the Lincoln Precision Tig machines to start the arc without delay, EVERY time? Thanks in advance!"A winner isn't someone who doesn't lose, a winner is someone who doesn't quit."
Reply:Have you checked the manual?I suspect the delay is to give you some pre flow of argon before the arc starts.JasonLincoln Idealarc 250 stick/tigThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52Miller Bobcat 250Torchmate CNC tableThermal Arc Hefty 2Ironworkers Local 720
Reply:The pre-flow is fixed at 0.5 sec, but there shouldn't be a delay if you restart during the post-flow time.
Reply:I usuall just kick the pedal right before I start so the gas is flowing. I think is is actually in post flow  then.
