I bought some of the plastic tubes for holding welding rod.  Does anyone have some pictures of racks or holders that you have made to store them?I have a new Syncrowave 250 and thought about building a cradle to mount on top of the machine to hold them.  One thought is to use a hole saw and cut two identical ends, space with small angle, and make it like a wine holder that sits on top of the machine.  I would probably plasma cut a couple of rectangular holes to store boxes also in the bottom layer.  I would also need to make sure I didn't make it too large to obscure the gauge.Any thoughts? Thanks, Attached ImagesLast edited by Crabo; 09-28-2013 at 04:25 PM.

Reply:i was talking to someone the other day who used copper tubing with soldered end caps as filler storage tubes.  Made for a cooler look than drainpipe.
Reply:I really like what 7A749 did with his pedal box.  I might just do a long simple bracket like this and attach it to the side of the welder. Attached ImagesLast edited by Crabo; 09-29-2013 at 12:13 AM.
Reply:If I have the time, I like cool projects, but in this case I don't have the time.  We just moved into a brand new shop at different high school.  There are so many things wrong that we have to fix, that a simple clean solution wins out now. (low bidder gets the job)I am building broom holders, hose reel supports, all kind of things.  It is a lot of fun, but very time consuming.  Here is a solution for hanging hose reels.  There was not enough room to put them on the wall and still coil up the hoses.I made a cool jig to set the cross bars in place.  I wanted them all to be the same height and level.  It was an inverted T that was welded from light weight angle. Then I bolted a cross bar to the top so it looked like an I.  Put the cross bar on the top of the I and a magnetic torpedo level on top of that, and it was so simple that the students could do it.  (I had 6 to do all in a row) Attached ImagesLast edited by Crabo; 09-29-2013 at 08:31 AM.
