A+ for Strong Hand tools and Cyberweld

Okay so maybe I'm in the wrong section of the forums here but I wanted to post and give props to Strong Hand tools for being one of few companies left that care about their customers.  I am new to welding and have plenty of cheap clamps and some decent ones from my wood working endeavors.  I saw strong hand's "joint master" clamps and thought they would be handy for both even though they are designed for welders.  Ordered a set from cyberweld and on of the pads was broken off of one of the pliers when I got them, hard to explain see the picture.  Kind of disappointing but I figured I'd call them to see what they said.  The lady at cyber weld conferenced in with a representative from Strong hand and after a picture to explain the problem they told me they would have the problem fixed and not to return what I had I assumed they would send only the pad which would have fixed the problem, to my surprise a whole new joint master setup arrived today, 1 week after my call in to them.  Hard to see in the pics but the flange was to big and would snap on and off the ball end but just brushing up against it.  As a result it came off during shipment and the ball that should have been it was no where to be found. Reply:I've got both stronghand, bessey, and off beat brands.  The bessey bar clamps are better/stronger than the stronghand of equivalent size.  The strong hands flex under pressure and the contact points get out of line.  A while back, I  bought a bar clamp from HF because it was super cheap with the coupon.  Believe it or not, it is just as good as the strong hands.  In fact, both have an annoying habit of "screwing" off the acme threads if you go too far in one direction.  The besseys will not.  I am sure Strong hand is good with their warranty, but I'd give them a 75% on their comparison with the bessey (at 100%)Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
Reply:Well, I do have to say that nothing is more important than decent and realistic customer service, good on Stronghand + Cyberweld for the quality customer service. That being said, I agree with you, Lugweld about the quality of available tools out there. As an owner of Bessey and other lesser quality clamps, tools, etc. I can't help but feel that if the build quality is high, there is almost no need for this kind of customer service. I'm so glad that I have my Bessey clamps, they work flawlessly and being a bit of a tool snob, I'm proud to see the best in my lineup. I've bought several Bessey clamps used for considerably less than I could have picked up inferior clamps new. Keep your eyes peeled at garage sales and second hand stores and have paitence, the good stuff always shows up. Reply:I do have a couple bessey clamps and you two are spot on, probably the finest I've used however the price can make you want to puke.  I do need to find someone that makes a decent C clamp for a decent price though as I use them a lot and my HF ones are all but bent, the pad and screw portion no longer align.  I have a handful of JET's and they seem to be holding up good though.Hobart 210 MVPEverlast Power Pro 256Best money I ever spent was on a welding class  MTEC
