I picked this cool little box up about a year ago and have been trying to find a use for it.  Well, I figured my knife collection would suffice.  My concern is I have mostly vintage Italian and German switchblades/stilettos/lever locks.  You should store these in the opened position since it takes the strain off of the spring.  I just was wondering if you guys could give me some tips on fabbing up a sort of shelf that I could secure them in pretty snug.  As you can see in the pics the upper portion opens up.  I was planning on mounting a few up there as well.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Reply:what are the dimensions of the box, and rough dimensions of the knives, and how many knives are we talking about. My first thought was leave the shelves out and just secure to padded walls using leather straps and snaps. but it's dependent on the sizes we're talking about and the number of knives. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:The box is at my dad's shop, but it's about 24" high by 12" wide give or take.  The knives range from 5" up to 13".  All the non-autos can be stored width ways.  I'd like to secure the rarer vintage switchblades long ways in the box.  Just looking for a way to fab up a clean looking shelf which will hold them in place without marking them up, but enough to keep them from falling out when you open the door.

Hope you've got a large safe to keep it in. Reply:You might want to explore using foam inserts.  You can custom cut to size.*************************************Mike AccardiHenderson, [email protected] 250XLincoln Weldpack HDMiller Syncrowave 180 SD*************************************
