You heard right... 3/4" wide, maybe 3/16" tall C-channel. The local welder I get my steel from and am good friends with gave me 40ft of 3/4" wide C-channel. Small stuff, rather rigid in small sections... what can I make out of it?
Reply:all kinds of stuff, when you think of something to make with it..tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/
Reply:Holy smoke, the possibilities are endless. Maybe save it until a use presents itself.
Reply:Well of course...I'm sure it could be used for some sort of framing... I got another 20ft of 3/4" angle too, Think I'm going to use that for the corners of a toolbox... however the C-channel stumps me.
Reply:Trailers are in right now. How about a small fold-able boat trailer for an inflatable raft. Then when you loose the raft or poke a hole in it you can fold up the trailer and put it in your trunk.  mac

Reply:OK. NOW. I'll tell you what to do with them. Tracks for a heavy duty toolbox.Find an appropriate bearing to roll in it and mount the bearing to the sides of the drawers. A 696ZZ bearing should be about right(or real close). Those are the ones most likely guiding the blade on your bandsaw, if you have one. They're chump change compared to buying the roller setups like the factories use and that setup would be four times stronger.Bubble gumTooth pixDuct tapeBlack glueGBMF hammerScrew gun --bad battery (see above)
Reply:Don't feel compelled to make something with every piece of scrap you find.  Just save it all and when your in a project pick off the scrap pile.  I guess if you live in a development the scrap pile size is limited...

Reply:You could use it for drawer frame to add a drawer to your tool cart/welding cart, or use it to make framework for a tool cabinet to mount above or next to a machine.Hemi-T"Ignorance can be fixed, but stupid is forever."Hobart BetaMig 2510Everlast PowerPro 256 TigMiller Radiator-1 Tig cooler
