I bought a northern tool hybrid 200 amp mig/140 stick-tig and it seems as though the mig/spoolgun setting does have the heat I thought it would. I have a Lincoln sp 170 mig and it is every bit as hot if not hotter. On the stick-tig setting it is very hot. For instance with 0.035 steel wire and the machine at max setting on 1/4" plate it still makes a high bead with little penetration. Is there a way to measure if it is putting out a full 200 amps?
Reply:I also have a lincoln sp170, and it works well. But my MM200 kills it in the heat dept. Your 200 should also.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea. |
