Well tank as air compressor?

OK, so we tore down our pump shed since we down need it anymore and i have this well tank left over. Could it be possibly used as an air tank. It already has an electric motor with it so all I would need is a compressor (I'm thinking maybe an old york a/c compressor), fab up a frame to remount the motor and compressor, and lines and fittings.
