Lincoln Tig 250/250

Bought a Lincoln Tig 250/250  for parts because the previous owner said it was inoperable for $400 with a Miller cooler, 50' of  power cable, brand new Tweco arc stinger, and a WP 20 torch. I got it home and plugged it in and it would arc weld but had a very weak arc. Pulled off the back cover and low and behold it was strapped for 440v after changing the input voltage to 220v it is stick welding like a champ. In Tig mode in low range the remote pedal does not seem to vary the voltage. In medium and high the pedal seems to operate backwards. Fully depressed is low voltage and it gets higher as you let it up. Anyone have and idea how come this is backwards. Manual says it should increase power as it is depressed. Reply:Hi Todd, sounds like the conductors attached to the pot in the foot peddle are mixed up or maybe the plug was replaced and the three wires that come from the pot are not in their proper pin locations.  Look up the manual for your welder on the Lincoln web sight and get the electrical schematic.   Best  Bob
Reply:Bob,I downloaded the manual from Lincoln and the schematic is very hard to read. When I get the schematic figured out I will check the pin out on the amphenol connector and troubleshoot from there.
