I just ordered these gloves..Good for over 600 degrees...!http://www.chefscatalog.com/product/...one-grips.aspxWe got these ones last week..Good for 450 degrees so I put a cast iron pan in my oven set @425 and let it sit for 1 hr.Took it out with these gloves on and held it for 5 mins and never felt any unreasonable heat in my fingers..So if these are good the others must be great!Very light weight...Silicone grippers..Just plain AWESOME!!I will never use "Welding" gloves ever again! The other gloves will be here by Thursday and I will post a complete review!...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Looking foward to the results with the 600deg ones. I run air cooled at home and the heat is my biggest crutch. I get one filler wire in and im ready to fling the torch if im running anything over 130amps. These gloves may be just the ticket!I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys

Reply:Originally Posted by DSWDown side to good gloves that shield your hands from the heat with an air cooled torch Mike is that it's super easy to exceed the duty cycle and melt the torch. I tell students that all the time and every so often I get one student who welds a bunch of alum at 150-180 amps  continuously and melts the 130 amp / 60% duty cycle  AC rated torch... Many of the torches like Weldcrafts have a much lower duty cycle on AC than the do DC.I'll be curious to see how you like these Zap. I can see a use for them doing hot metal work like forging.
Reply:I like the long gauntlet, better coverage for the wrists. I'll have to try a pair. Most of my work is pre-heated to between 600-900 degrees f.http://www.facebook.com/LockhartMetalArthttp://www.facebook.com/pages/Grumpy...44306259043484

Reply:They look like my ov gloves..  My ov glove works for kitchen duties, but kinda bulky for trying to tig..
Reply:@ Zap - BreakThrough. Def rip a full review after you test drive the 600F model. Tired of smok'n my leathers (finger curls) when stick welding.  Also looking for a solid replacement to the Tilman TIG'rs.  Those thin walled gloves seem to rip/fail just by looking at 'em.  Been wearing long sleeves and donning standard Mechanix gloves as an alternative. The journey continues...."Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
Reply:Pretty cool.  I figure if they're too loose fitting, one can always use velcro straps to pull them tight, then wrap the velcro around the wrists. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:From my experience those little pads melt away.
Reply:I mainly wear gloves for abrasion resistance and that type of protection, not because I'm handling hot metal. My leather gloves have stopped many a sharp tungsten pokes and close calls with the belt sander.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
Reply:."Verrrry interesting.  But will it fly ?"I'll be looking forward to your review on comfort and torch handling as wellas heat protection using these for TIG gloves. .Last edited by doctorxring; 07-29-2013 at 01:32 AM.
Reply:Tried several types of gloves.......the Miller gloves are really cheap and last a long time with tig......  Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock
Reply:I'm wondering how those will hold up to grinder sparks.
Reply:Funny Zap, I use stick welding gloves for the kitchen stuff."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"

Reply:I bet these are much better than the oveglove but I have been using the oveglove on my filler hand for a long time now, with a leather tig glove on my torch hand, I guess if doing high amperage and pre heated stuff I could see one on each hand too, these do look and sound to be much better than the oveglove, gotta pick up a setmiller 330a bp TIGmiller dynasty 200DX TIGmillermatic 185 MIGthermal dynamics cutmaster 101 plasma cuttersnap-on YA5550 plasma cutterhypertherm powermax 30 plasma cutterbaileigh CS225 cold sawetc....Originally Posted by turbocad6I bet these are much better than the oveglove but I have been using the oveglove on my filler hand for a long time now, with a leather tig glove on my torch hand, I guess if doing high amperage and pre heated stuff I could see one on each hand too, these do look and sound to be much better than the oveglove, gotta pick up a set
Reply:yeah, I was rushing when I posted that and said it azz backwards, I of course meant to say oveglove on my TORCH hand and leather on my filler hand I like the leather on my filler hand cause it gives me better feed and feel but I could def see a nomex on both hands if needed too miller 330a bp TIGmiller dynasty 200DX TIGmillermatic 185 MIGthermal dynamics cutmaster 101 plasma cuttersnap-on YA5550 plasma cutterhypertherm powermax 30 plasma cutterbaileigh CS225 cold sawetc....

Personally, I'm pretty confident in saying those wouldn't give me the dexterity I want. Looks like it would be like trying to weld while wearing those little stretchy snow gloves lol

Reply:Looks legit. Just curious, what type of tig work are you doing? I'm pretty partial to my Tillman L32 gloves. They are nice and thin for maneuvering and stand up well to heavy abuse. Hell I slap a cool pad on my lead hand and mig weld with em too. But then again I work in heavy industry, so durability and protection would be my biggest concern using those gloves.
Reply:http://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=4750After I got out of school 3 years ago I tried lots of tig gloves. The first time I put these on I knew these were it for me. I love em and use nothing else in the last 3 years. I just love the feel and filler control I get.
