Looked at craigslist today and found a 30" slip roller. The ad said make an offer and come get it. Called the guy and he was a retired shop teacher that was cleaning out his garage. He said the machine was in great shape he just doesn't use it anymore. Said he would take 75 bucks for it and the stand comes with it. I thought that was a pretty good deal. I got to use one at a mill I worked at for a couple years. Made some pretty nice sheet metal buckets we used to hold parts on machines. I was thinking about trying to make one sometime down the road but the rollers alone would cost more than 75 bucks. So I'm pretty happy with this find and the guy said he was clearing out his garage cause he doesn't do metal working anymore so maybe he will have some other things he wants to get rid of.
Reply:Well I picked this up today. It's in pretty good shape for being an old machine. The guy was really nice and said he didn't know who made it over the phone. When I got there I found that it was a pexto 36" slip roller. So I got a really good deal for 75 bucks.Going to break it down and clean everything and go over everything. Then I'm going to paint it with my HVLP sprayer, not sure what color yet. While searching I saw some a green color and some a blue color. Maybe I'll just paing it a blue to match my miller welder? I was doing some searching and found others used pextos are going for 400 and up. I probably won't use it a lot but I'm sure I'll get my 75 bucks out of it!It was a happy morning picking this up!
