Does anyone got roller chain laying around.

I need only 1ft. of #40 (1/2 pitch) roller chain(new). Every where i look it only comes in 10ft lenghts and the shipping is a killer. So if anyone has some spare roller chain ( for a good price) all i need is just 1 ft. because i have the rest of #40 that i need. Thanks alot

Reply:If you can help it, try to buy US made chain.  The foreign stuff is really bad.  Permatex makes a product called Motorcycle and farm something or other lube for roller chain.  It is about the best out there.  I have chain that's over 5 or 6 yrs. old runnin' in really dusty cruddy environments that still goes to work in the Summer.  The guys that run ag lime trucks use it too.  It's really good stuff.  Comes in a spray can."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:Try TSC or Lowes.  They both have/had chain, at least around here.  It's in the usual 10 ft lengths, but at least you're not having to pay UPS to deliver it.  You just have to go to the store and buy it.  I found some #60 marked down at Lowes a while back, less than $1.00 per foot for the 10 ft length.  So I bought it.    The best laid schemes ...
