I found this on Ebay and I couldn't stop myself. It really is a quality machine and cuts thru small round stock like butter.......I put it on my 110 mig cart so you can get an idea of how small this really is. Its 16" SHORT.Timmer Attached Images
Reply:Pretty cool.But what's it good for?Tim Beeker.
Reply:It's also known as a jeweler's lathe. Good for really fine work. Some times the South Bend 13" is just a wee bit big for the tiny stuff. The soldering toys pay for the welding toys.Hakko 928 dual iron, 4xHakko 936Madell 850D Hot Air SMT ReworkMiller 252, HTP Invertig 201 AC/DC, and a Hypertherm 45.
Reply:I bet that is neat to play on.Tim Beeker.
Reply:wow thats small, what have you made on it?Adam MMorales Ranch
Reply:So far I've only turned a few small lock pins for boat oars. They turned out perfect.....The Lathe can be converted into a mill or cut threads with the right attachments. I'm also wanting to try making some jewelry out of stainless.......that should be a challenge. I don't work with aluminum, but my welder can be upgraded, so I'll give some thought to making some chess pieces or other small items. I can see now that this could be habit forming.......
Reply:Thats cool. Im going to get one. All I have is a big setup about 12 feet long..............................."Look Good Doing It"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
