Can you run dual sheild in a 140 amp mig?If so what size and how would you set it?
Reply:You might get away with .035 wire.  Look at the Depositions / Parameters tab.http://esabna.com/us/en/products_cat...Product_ID=237Don’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400

Reply:Lol no it's not mentioned on the machine.

Reply:I had some goofy problems with that 7100 wire running C25 on a bigger machine.  I would NOT use it on my HH140 with C25 - it just cools too much.I haven't tried CO2 yet, but that should run a little - make that a LOT - hotter - it might work! That's a 2x2 angle.  Haven't figured out those voids yet.  Had them on every weld. Reply:You going to have enough voltage?"The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
Reply:I dont know much but it didnt look like you grinded the metal clean.

Reply:short answer:  NOPE.slightly longer answer:  Just like Sandy mentioned, you won't have enough voltage output from the machine to run an FCAW-G wire.even slightly longer answer:  Looked up a Miller MM135 and MM175 spec sheet (cause Miller usually puts the Voltage-Amperage curves in their manuals).  The ESAB 7100 Ultra spec parameters say 105 amps at 24 volts running 250 ipm using CO2 with 0.035 wire.  Although 0.035 wire can (generally) fit in the 135-140-class machines, the MM135 spec chart says at max voltage output (V dial set to "10", and no it doesn't ' go to 11'   ) and 105 amps output you only get ~ 17V output. The MM175 spec chart shows (with the V dial set to "10") and 105 amps output, you may just barely get to 24V output.  Which to me says that you might be right on the edge of almost getting it to work, if everything lines up in your favor.  But usually, that means that you might get it to work intermittently (work, doesn't work right parameter-wise, works for another monet or two, then doesn't work, repeat until you end up pulling out all your hair). The ESAB DualShield II 70 Ultra lists that it somes in 0.035 diameter, on a 10lb plastic spool, and can run at 110 amps and 22 volts at 250 ipm WFS using C25.  This one -might- run on the MM175 (or 'better'), but still can't run on the MM135 (or similar 120V machine, unless the machine can somehow run a relatively high welding voltage output even at 'max' amperage output).MM140 and MM180 both list similar volt-amp output curves in their manuals as well (yeah, I went to the Miller site and pulled up the PDFs for them).  The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...

Reply:My V350-Pro doesn't have a problem with voltage. Here is some .045-inch ESAB 710X I ran for another thread on dual shield. I don't think it comes in .035-inch.
