I am looking at purchasing a new machine. I am stuck between the Lincoln 210MP and the Millermatic 211MVP. The prices are similar and I like the ability to stick weld with the Lincoln but know the Miller may be a higher quality. I don't think I would use it everyday but most likely a few times a week. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Reply:Lincoln......simple.Just a couple welders, big hammers, grinders, and torches.Work will free you.Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it. Trump/Carson 2016-2024
Reply:I prefer a dedicated machine for each process. Do you know what happens if the stick goes dead ?? Does that mean the mig won't work either ? I don't know but would investigate . I have all MILLERS so I would definitely say the 211.

Reply:They are both high-quality machines made by reputable companies. The MM211 is a good welder but the 210MP simply provides a lot more value for the money. You may also want to look at the Tweco 211i which is a comparable machine in the same price range.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps

Reply:The Lincoln is a newer machine and an inverter. Inverters are more likely to go bang and leave you without a welder.I don't think the TIG kit add on is great value. $630 for a tig torch and foot pedal. And the unit has no argon solenoid, just a valve on the torch. And scratch start only?So the Miller. But if it were me I'd be tempted to go one of 2 directions.1) spend a little more and get a 230-250 amp machine like the Hobart Ironman 230.2) spend a little less and get the Hobart 210 MVP and put the rest towards saving for a good TIG machine (with solenoid, HF start, maybe AC).Hobart 210 MVPHTP Invertig 221 + coolerEverlast SuperUltra 205
Reply:I had decided to go with the Lincoln. I got a call from the company I placed the order with and the customer service rep said they were a month out. Production could not keep up with demand. So I went with the miller and it should be here tomorrow. I am certainly excited about the new machine. I thank all who had some input for me, I will let you know how it works out. |
