Please post pictures and design of a hoosier bar. Thank you.
Reply:Is this some type of drinking establishment in Indiana? If so I didn't know they had certain designs to follow to build them, I figured as long as it passed building codes. Are you thinking of opening your own bar?
Reply:i think what op is referring to is a swingout arm on a rig to hold an umbrella or canopy..
Reply:If you don't find what you need here, check out the AWS forum. There should be pics on there - a lot of pipeliners on that forum.

Reply:the ones i have seen are multi purpose. They hold the stinger, ground, remote, extension cord, hang a grinder, and hold the umbrella, off the side of the truck so you can drive the welding rig down the row without having the wrap up all your leads every time you go joint to jointVantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.

Reply:If you go over to the AWS Site look for posts containing "Hoosier POLES"Lots of pics over there.Later,Jason
Reply:Yes Hoosier poles are usually telescopic and will go out atleast 12+ feet. most i have seen are mounted on the drivers side but it wouldn't be that hard to make a mount that would allow you to swap it from side to side.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.

Reply:Huckxc, thank you for the pictures. Please send more. How does the top piece set on the vertical with the mouth? What is the ID of the outside pipe and the OD of the inside pipe? Do guys mount lights on the horizontal piece? Would you also give some dimensions? I will be building a skid for the back of my F350; so I can remove the welder and tool boxes when needed. Wanted a Hoosier Bar to be part of the skid. Thank you, again, as I am not a pipe line welder but like their rigs.
Reply:The top horizontal sits on the riser....I took the same size pipe sliced it less than half way and used a hammer to make it fit nice. All 2'' sch 40 and 80 with sch 80 fittings. As far as giving you my dims....my new bed drops 7'' for my machine. I didn't want the pole over/above the machine and as wide as the machine. If I had lights then I could work longer than 12 hours...Think about it!Classic 1D 200SAE 30086 SA 200Hyperthem 45Jancy Mag Force O/A Victor-GossCable's remote2-12" Mathey Dearman bevelersLN 25Miller Auto Set 211Wendy's Pancake/Jackson PipelinerNew Holland LS 180Great story man....tell it again!
