Insulating From heat

I have added a bracket on my engine-driven welder to mount an electric fuel pump.It is fairly close to one of the exhaust pipes, so I want to insulate it from the heat.I will install an aluminum heat shield first (or maybe a flux-core hand shield), but would like to know if there is a form of thin sheet insulation that would supplement the heat shield.I would like it to separate the fuel pump from the bracket.I don't really know if it is necessary, as the original fuel lines ran right through this area with no protection, but I'd feel better if I could do it.ThanksHobart Beta-Mig 2511972 Miller AEAD-200LEMiller 250 TwinNorthern Ind. Reply:they sell exhaust wrap , for headers in performance cars, you could either wrap the exhaust or use it on the heat shield..any performance auto place online would have it..Of all the things I lost I miss my mind the most...I know just enough about everything to be dangerous......You cant cure stupid..only kill it...
