Hello, howdy, hey there,I purchased a TIG welder not too long ago and it came with a water cooler, I thought that was awesome.  Today I decided to tinker with the water cooler as I feel I need to make some other important adjustments to the TIG torch.I removed the bottom right nut without really knowing what it is, I was happy to find that it was a cap holding a filter in place.  I decided to go at the filter with a tooth brush, the filter came out nice and clean.  I put the filter and cap back on and removed the other (middle left) nut.  This exposed a pressure screw that is responsible for the PSI and flow rate, at least from what I can tell.  I have a clue as to what occurs when I twist the screw as I run the pump while making adjustments and at the top there is some sort of notification system where water seems to flow through the top, it's fun to watch.  But this is far from an exact science and I am hoping someone here might have some experience with this sort of think, bernard water coolers are very common amongst welders it seems.  I have read a few places that it's important that the PSI be set at 50, for all I know it could have been at 50.  I imagine that measuring how far out or in the screw is might give a good idea as to what PSI the pump is running at but I wouldn't know.Any advice would be appreciated.Miller 330 a/bp water cooledI believe in gun control, I hold my gun with two hands.  If you want to know why, click here.Buy American or bye America.
Reply:I think you'd have to put a pressure gauge on it and adjust the screw untill you get the pressure reading you want.  Most likely, the adjustment was right where it should be before you took it apart.  Try your best to get it back to the position it was in before the tinkering and it will likely work just fine.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:That's the safety overload. To reset it you'll need to put a gauge and a shut off valve on the discharge side. Then with the screw set loose, run the pump with the valve open until you have established flow. Shut the valve and gradually turn in the screw until you get up to your 50 psi setting. Reopen the valve and you're set. The '50 psi' setting the manufacturers are referring to is a working pressure, but the true pressure is dictated by the system and is a function of restriction and flow. As long as you have flow of 1 gpm or so, pressure isn't relative. 1 gpm at 20 psi is as good as 1 gpm at 50 psi, your torch will provide the backpressure. We want to see something like this in the signature line:Lincoln Ranger 250Miller Auto-Darkening Elite HelmetLincoln 100Lincoln MigMiller Spectrum 375Craftsman 8 galllon gas powered compressorLongevity 200amp Tig Welder LT-200D

Reply:I found a pump like that on an old soda fountain.
