I've seen a lot of photos and came up with this so far. If I took some of your ideas, it's because I liked them. THANKS
Reply:Thats a great looking skid. What all are you going to have mounted besides your welder? I like the idea of being able to run the end of forklift forks in from the end. I guess that was one of your plans? richey Sweet Home Alabama
Reply:Looking good. I'll be watching this as I'm in the middle of building one myself.
Reply:Oh, interesting, never thought of a skid setup
Reply:As soon as I can get a free weekend, I will be building one also.I've had my new trailblazer for 3 weeks now, and not even an hour yet.

Reply:The cable reels are next. I'm having a guy laser cut some parts for me. They won't be "live". I saw a couple ideas and photos on making them so I'm planning on making 4 and welding them on the end. I'm hoping he can have the parts cut by the weekend.

Reply:Just wondering, What is the advantage of a skid? I've been looking for a 1 ton for my SA 200, nothing special just a dually that i can put a flatbed on but everyone wants all the money in the world for them. Thinking about a skid now after reading this, would there be much of an advantage?Miller Dialarc 250'61 Lincoln SA 200 Red/Blue FaceHobart Handler 175Smith O/AIf you cant dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with B.S.!

Reply:That will be a way to make a portable welder even more portable. I saw what looks to be a Cobra matic welder in the background in one your photos. Do you use it a lot. I have one that I bought back in the early 80s that we used to repair alunimum dump trailers that they hauled coal in. Last time I hooked it up to a Miller SCP-200C that I bought about the same time it still worked great. richey
