Hi everyone,i am new to this site,so im really looking foward to hearing your points of views and opinions.I work in the construction industry installing and welding HVAC pipe work.Pipe size ranges from 4'' to 22'' schedule 40 pipe.We are thinking about getting a mig machine for welding on site.Im thinking the miller pipeworx 350 fieldpro.Id be happy to hear what you guys think what would be the best machine!
Reply:Be hard to go wrong with that one. We have a couple of Pipeworx 400s at work and they are some kinda nice. The only thing I don't like about it is it's heavy and hard to roll around. I think we should have a separate cart for the wire feeder so you don't have to roll machine and all around.edit: I just googled your machine, that looks nice and portable. Here's the setup we have, this thing weighs a tonLast edited by TimmyTIG; 09-24-2013 at 05:57 AM.
Reply:I saw Lincoln demo a similar system using their STT process at Fabtech last year. Fronius has their version called CMT. I am not a pipe welder and I cannot say which is better, but it may be worth while checking out all three before you spend the big $$$.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps |
