dynasty 200 complete package

dynasty 200 complete package so i am looking for a tig package that i could run off of my bobcat 225 nt.   I would also like to use it  in the shop.   Is the dynasty feasable in doing this.  the complete package comes with all needed and a water cooler and water cooler compatable tig torch.  just wondering   oh yeah i know i can do non critical tig with my bobcat but am looking for a good machine to utilize more in the shop but want it to work in the field when i need it to.www.burdettenetworks.com

Reply:desert rider-   Thanks for the info.  If you look on cyberweld.com they sell a all inclusive package with cart rigged for the 200 its cooler unit and bottle storage.  I was considering getting this for easy movement.  I will be using an enclosed trailer for most of my tool storage and moving to and from jobsite so would be easy for loading and unloading since it has a fold down ramp.    what would you think about utilizing a heavy 220 volt extension cord from the bobcat to the dynasty to enable me to move the dynasty closer to the work and not have to have the trailer right there?www.burdettenetworks.com
Reply:220V extension cord is the way to go.This machine is very portable if you put it on a cart, and the 10 gauge extension cord will cost you much less per foot than welding cable.

Reply:Depends on how you set your cart up.I mounted my Dynasty vertically on a hand truck, with the Argon next to it in hoops on the side.  It can be laid down horizontally in a truck, but I keep it vertical just about all the time.It takes up almost no floor space, and travels over anything (stairs included).  Ladders, not so much, but this machine is a bit much for ladder travel anyway (especially if you take argon along).Vertically, it actually runs a little cooler (air convection cools the machine keeping the fan from kicking in as soon), BUT YOU MUST PROTECT THE TOP FROM GRINDING DUST.That stuff is conductive.  I once thought it killed my machine when the HF didn't work.  It was solved by blowing out with compressed air.  I'm guessing the dust shorted something, but thankfully there was no permanent damage.  I just use a cloth cover now.
