Hello folks  I  am looking to buy a  small wire welder  what do  you all think about the  Lincoln  weldpack 125  hd    I have  a   M M  252  and a  Bob cat 225  but never tried out the  125  weldpack    I tried  a 100  HD   linconl  using  innershield   .035  and  I liked it  burns  hot enough to  satisfy me  but   need help on this unit  before spending money on shipping, Thanks
Reply:The Lincoln 125 is a good little welder. You may want to check this one out and the price is right the AHP 140 mig. http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/...-test-ahp.htmlwww.georgesplasmacuttershop.comPlasma Cutter and Welder Sales and Repairs--Ebay storeTec.Mo. Reply:For material 1/8" and under, most of the decent 125 to 140 amp 110v migs would work fine. I'd avoid the smaller machines myself. If you have the cash and the need, I'd personally look at the slightly bigger dual voltage units like Millers MM211, Hobarts 210 MVP or even Lincolns dual voltage 180. On 110v power any of those would equal a 125-140 amp class mig, but if you plugged into 230v power you'd have a lot more power and be able to do 3/8" with the Miller and Hobart, 1/4" with the lincoln. Down side besides cost is the added weight. If you need lower weight and 110v power, but still would like dual voltage, theres always the older Miller Passports or some of the new 3 in one units like the Miller Multimatic, but the price may well be beyond what you are willing to pay since you have a Bobcat..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Speaking from personal experience with prior ownership of both a 125 "weld crap" and a Lincoln 140C, get the 140C HANDS DOWN. The 140C produces a much better arc and gives you 30-140 Amps, with the proper AC input outlet,  (ie. 20, 25 or even a 30A "RV" style 120v outlet is best).   The 125 only puts out a maximum of 30-125A.   The extra 15A from a 140C model (with the proper AC input line) can make a difference, I know first hand.  Now, if you plan on using just a regular "15A" outlet (vs. 20, 25 or 30A), your performance will be poor regardless of the machine you use.  For a few bucks more, you could get the Lincoln 180C multi voltage and have a far better machine than any 120v wire welder.Last edited by SuperArc; 06-16-2014 at 05:32 PM.Lincoln Power Mig 216Lincoln AC/DC-225/125Miller  625 X-Treme PlasmaMiller 211 Forney 95FI-A 301HF 91110Victor Journeyman O/PMilwaukee DaytonMakita  Baileigh NRA Life Member
Reply:The Miller 140 has good results. Check craigs list for some. In my area there are a lot of 120 volt machines for sale. People buy them to play with, lose interest, and sell. Some deals can be found.
Reply:It's not so much the amps, but the volts at 140 amps that does the work of burning it in. I think the  the new Victor 141i is the best 120 volt only machine out, power wise.(Power factor caps) I have used many 140c Lincolns, and owned a blue model passport. The Victor on par with the Passport on 110 volt power. Never used the new Miller Multimatic 200. but probably on par with the other two (power on 120 volt input) I really do like the 140c very well, but the victor 141i is more powerful, and is a pretty nice 120 volt stick machine too.. Way less weight to lug around, then the old school filled with bricks model. $570.00 to your door Pretty much kills the other machine in Value to Performance. Free helmet too. 140 amp tig too.. Never thrown a 20 amp breaker on Mig or Stick. Slick unit, and really worth owning.. Adjustable inductance, and Burn-back included. Meters too..  It has a way stronger Wire feeder then any Smaller Miller or Hobart feeder. Reply:I've got a black newer model Passport Plus for sale if your still looking, it's probably the best and most portable 110/220V mig welder there is ! If you or someone you know is interested let me know, thanks Richard.
