I have the Viking 3350, love the adjustments (have had it art least a year now) but what I find is that I seem to have to try pretty hard to get a very crisp/clear view of what I'm doing. Like I need to be looking perpendicular out of the view. I have theory. Kinda like photography..taking a photo out of a window, as soon as you are off perpendicular, you're looking through a lot more material and sharpness falls of dramatically. So, my question...can I remove inside protective clear on my hood? It would be less to look through and maybe cut down on refraction? I only tig now and wear standard eye protection underneath. Started with an old snap on AD, then jumped to Miller digital elite (had a dark cloudy area..returned it, and have been using the Viking since...first with solid wire in school then tig in school and now at home.) I think this was never an issue before cause I was always on the bench/ flat horizontal but actual projects have my head and hands all over the place. Thanks
Reply:I did it on my HF helmet and didn't make a difference. But that was a $45.00 helmet and the risk was low.  What made the difference was taking the protective shields off and cleaning everything. How dust can get in between the protective shield and the lens was beyond me.  I also traded up to the 3350 recently and love the helmet.Syncrowave 210HH140Victor O/A
