torch and adapter.

so i finally found an adapter so i can run a water cooled torch on my Lincoln 175 TIG. My main reason for wanting to upgrade to a torch like the WP20, are the much more flexible/lighter hoses leading to the torch. the factory cables are heavy and VERY stiff wich often cause problems while welding...my question is, can i run a water cooled torch without actually being water cooled. basically, get the adapter and the WP20, and just tape up the 2 water lines for now. I plan on making my own water cooler. Reply:Some run a water cooled torch by hooking up to a faucet and dumping the "waste" down the drain. I wouldn't recomend that if you are where your stuff can freeze however.As DR said, if you have a watercooled torch, it needs the water or you can probably expect to get a new one..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:There are a few things you have to do, in welding.  JGSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases.  There all here. :
