I need lubricant for simple home machining activities. Industrial products come in one and 55 gal sizes. Where can I get a small quantity of soluble oil for use at home?Or is there a home brew recipe that I can create myself?Cheers!

Reply:I'd suggest you try MSC.http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/GSDRVS...00000122107480.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:You have an Airgas nearby?  They sell soluble oil by the quart for their Hougen mag base drills with annular cutters.

Reply:I have used "Kroil."  Comes in an orange can, with black print.  I am unsure as to how soluble it is.  They sure are proud of it, though.-Rhyno07 Fowler 200D65 RedFace04 Miller TB 302, 22hpMiller 12RCMiller HF 251-1Lincoln SP135HyperTherm PM 380and a few others... Reply:go to the local oil supplier.  cheaper than most anywhere else you will buy it.  Doesnt matter what brand.  You can buy it in 5 gallon buckets.  Because I have an issue sometimes with heat in the shop, I use soluble cutting/grinding fluid, mixed with RV antifreeze and water.  1 or 2 parts oil, mixed with a 50/50 mix of antifreeze/water.All of your lubrication needs will be met at your oil supplier.  cc
