Box/Pan for alum

How thick of alum. could I bend with a brake rated for 16g steel? The brake would be 48'' and the pieces of alum would range from 6''-24''.Dynamic MetalworksMontrose, CODynMetalworks.com
Reply:not even close to being an expert on metal structure or whatever but i would think if it's annealed, you could bend a pretty decent gauge with it...maybe 3/16 if its annealed...probably wouldn't wanna do more than 1/16 or so if its cold...might cause cracks in it or stress fractures along the bend...could weaken it a lot to if you try to bend it too far...but like i said, i'm no expert nor have i ever tried to bend aluminum with a brake...
