Relating to this video http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/tig-weld-1045.htmlI'm now using a  private labelled 3/32" arc rod to weld tabs on springs that I buy at Praxair(no not trailers)Based on this info in the video above, plus the same that Jody has mentioned as well as the rod compositions It's possible I can get a better priced generic rod of 312 stainless if I can find one.My LWS guy is uselessI've looked at the rod websites, but only found it in TIG rods, not Arc/stick/smaw Anyone know a Source??Last edited by 12345678910; 10-02-2013 at 05:48 PM.

Reply:Here's another question, is 312 available as a mig wire ?
Reply:I've never seen it but you might be able to use 309L if it meets your strength requirements.A few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:If it helps you find it, Super Missle Weld rod (SMW) is practically the same thing as 312Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire.
Reply:Thanks for the replies.
