Reply:Tapped output and AC only. Offer $100 and see what happens.Everlast PA160-STH... and that's about it!
Reply:Save your money. You can hard tack the (unusual) thick stuff together and haul it to a shop for them to run a bead until you can afford your own REAL rig.
Reply:A better choice, and usually cheaper is a standard lincoln 225 AC welder. The "tombstone" can be had for $50 - $150 very often. My miller dialarc was only $225.Dave J.Last edited by MinnesotaDave; 10-02-2013 at 06:43 PM.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.

Reply:Skip it. Save for a AC/ DC machine like a THUNDERBOLT or as mentioned a Lincoln tombstone
Reply:AC only? Ick.I want a Lincoln tombstone, that's what I used for stick many years ago, had plenty of power to do up to 3/8'' steel.old Miller spectrum 625 Lincoln SP-135 T, CO2+0.025 wireMiller model 250 and WP-18V torchCraftsman 100amp AC/DC and WP-17V torchCentury 115-004 HF arc stabilizerHome made 4 transformer spot welderHome made alternator welder

Reply:Bad cables or no cables wont be a problem.I have plenty of 00 gauge cable in my wire collection, a stick holder that has only burned 2 or 3 rods and a big old grounding clamp in my mig parts box.old Miller spectrum 625 Lincoln SP-135 T, CO2+0.025 wireMiller model 250 and WP-18V torchCraftsman 100amp AC/DC and WP-17V torchCentury 115-004 HF arc stabilizerHome made 4 transformer spot welderHome made alternator welder

Reply:The Craftsman welder is $50 - $75 at best. Some of the National Cylinder Gas (NCG) welders were made by Miller, but I can't say that particular one was. NCG became a part of Chemetron, as did the welder division of P&H.  That one could be a P&H that was made for NCG, though they tended to make big welders.  Probably worth the $$ for the copper alone.  If it works well, it would probably be better than the Crapsman.  It is AC only.  Hard to tell what Amps it puts out - looks fairly small.  If you can't test it or return it, offer $35."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA  Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder
