I just saw this on Hackaday, an amazing hacker/maker site (hackaday.com), today and thought that there might be someone that could benefit from this. http://www.nerdkits.com/videos/digital_calipers_dro/It's a moderately easy way to add a DRO to your machines. They hack apart a pair of cheap-o digital calipers and attach it to their NerdKit interface. Really ingenious. The world is amazing when you are slightly strange.
Reply:thanks. looks like a good winter project, maybe next yearDaye
Reply:I'd almost look into using a higher quality digital caliper, one that can give you a tens reading and such. If you watch the output, it goes to 5 places, but he doesn't have fine control over it.The world is amazing when you are slightly strange. |
