Reply:Steve,Esab lists CFH (Cubic Feet per Hour) for their plasma cutters. Most compressors you are looking at will list CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute). Basically, take that 274 number, divide by 60 = 4.5833 (call it 4.6 Cubic Feet per Minute). When you look for the compressor, figure you want something that does at lest 5 CFM with a 60% or higher duty cycle.--Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow

Reply:5cfm is a TINY amount. If you plan on using air for anything else, I'd look for 12-15cfm. It is amazing how many neat air tools there is/are. Don't get stuck with a compressor that won't power them! |
