finally got me a small utility trailer.I added a few things to make it more useful and safe. The very first thing I added was expanded metal side walls, but was careful to frame them with 1 inch flat strap so I could still run straps and tie down ropes above and below them...Then fabbed up a spare tire carrier and lock system....then tongue box...then bulldog hitch trailer lock.I'm tickled with except that the rear gate needs to be bifold so I made up some hinges
Reply:Hitch lock being fabbed ...In the last pic of the above post of tongue tool box, you can see hitch lock installed...it's painted red Last edited by pigeonpoop; 12-24-2013 at 05:25 AM.
Reply:I've still yet to add those pretty hinges to the rear drop gate....I've gotta scrounge up some 2' X 1/4' angle to make it a bifold ramp gate
Reply:I like the hitch lock. Took me a minute to figure out the T handles. Made sense as soon as I saw the pict with them installed with the tire on. Nice job..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:Nice Mods.  Wished I had thought of boxing out the expanded metal using the 1" flat to allow room for straps, I went full height with the expanded metal on my trailer  then had to go back and weld on some tie down rings.Andy-------------------------Miller Bobcat 250 / Dynasty 200DXHobart HH 140Hypertherm PowerMax 380Kalamazoo 8C BandsawHowron Bender / Hossfeld #2 Bender

Reply:When I do make the rear gate bifold, I have to make it to where it ain't no longer flat....It needs to halve the break angle so my low slung Road King don't hang on the jiffy stand when it rolls onto the trailer.....i'm thinking if I incorp about 15 degree of obtuse offset where it folds, it will be perfect
Reply:Nice work, and cool ideas!

Reply:I had some scrap wheels and a swivel caster, so I fabbed up this handy trailer mover.......I just roll it under the tongue and then push down on the T handle until the front swivel caster hits the ground......Makes it super easy to roll a loaded trailer around......I designed the height of it to match the height of the tongue after cranking it up off my pickup hitch, so it's really quick to use
Reply:I love the tongue lock.  I will be stealing that idea.

Reply:Ok, no pics on new computer so I just took this one...Here is FATBABE sitting in the gameroom next to the dance pole...she is jacked into a battery tender and will be until spring, and yeah she has Stabil in the gas tank......you can see that I live as a single man or there would be no gameroom or scooter in the house....and no dance pole either.FATBABE is forsale....$12K gets her...she is a 2007 with 12k on the clock....she has a Thundermax fueler, Chubbly1 internally wired 14" ape bars, three different seats, new V&H true duals, and lots of other custom stuff gobbed on her.I'll miss that little fatazzed bytch
Reply:Here is a vid of FATBABE in action   Two of my roomie girlfriends decided I would give them their first scooter ride that day ")
Reply:Here is the BullDog hitch lock once finished and painted....It fits really tight to where I have to use the padlock to tap it in place.....I fabbed up the hinge using sched 40 1/8" pipe and welded a bolt/nut as a hinge pin.....Big box stores wanted almost 50 bucks for similar lock, so happened to have right size pipe scrap and few hours to fiddle with it
Reply:Trailer is turning out good, but im really interested in that Tj.  I like where u mounted that shovel and rotopax.  How did u mount them?  Did u drill into the door and tub or do u got another method?Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2

Reply:Very Kool!  I dig that shovel!    How's that fender hold up when the jug is full and you out on a trail or rough surfaces?  I think it's a perfect place for it.  Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
