Plan to run a Ln-25 off of a Trailblazer 302. Looking for the best way to get pulsed MIG for aluminum. I already have a ln-25, so I should be able to hook that to a Python push/pull and then use a Miller Optima Pulse Control to give me pulse???Craig MontgomeryM&L Fabrication, LLChttps://www.facebook.com/pages/ML-Fa...8228829?ref=hl
Reply:Any other options to get pulse on that setup, without a separately powered machine?Craig MontgomeryM&L Fabrication, LLChttps://www.facebook.com/pages/ML-Fa...8228829?ref=hl
Reply:Go to the Miller site and email them. I did some research on the optima controller when I had one. It's specifically for inverter power sources because tranny's can't cycle fast enough. The lowest pulse settings are something like 200 pps. Same as why buying a tranny tig with pulse is limited to such a low pps, they inherently can't pulse that fast. The controller is designed to be used on XMT power sources. When you turn it on, it gives you a choice to pick on which inverter power source you will be using with it. One of the main advantages of the Optima is "Adaptive Mode". This will allow you to raise the WFS when you want a hotter weld, and the controller will automatically change the voltage and pulse settings for you for the particular wire you are using. To use it to its capacity, you need an inverter power source with a 14 pin connector and a wire feeder with a 14 pin connector. For a suitcase, you need an old S22P12 or a newer 8/12RC.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum |
