Had some time today to throw together four 6500# d-rings (1/8 7018) that will ultimately get attached to my utility trailer also thought I would throw a picture of my service truck in as well.  The truck is a 1990 1/2 ton  chevy that I bought 10 years ago and was worn out then.  However, it sees the highway very little and spends most of its time in the field.  On the truck I keep the following, Hobart champion elite, gas powered northern tool air compressor (13.5cfm), Oxygen/Acetylene torch, retractable vise, lincoln sp 175t, miller s-32p12, makita chop saw, and all the hand/air/battery tools a guy could need.  Happy new year,farmer2 Attached ImagesLast edited by farmer2; 01-01-2014 at 04:49 PM.
Reply:How do you like the Hobart?
Reply:Loved it up until a week ago when a rocker arm came apart on me (warranty covered it).  I can't really blame hobart because it was Kohler's mistake. Other than that I love the machine.  It does everything I need.  It is the exact same machine as a bobcat minus the CV feature and polarity switch.  They are identical in every other way.  It is my only stick welding machine, because nearly all of my work is in the field.
Reply:Well, that sums it up for me. I was looking at the Hobart Champion Elite, but no CV is a deal breaker. Good to know though, the brochure that was sitting on the machine didn't say much useful and nobody in the store knew anything about it.Bruce
Reply:is the rocker arm problem only on the new ones?  mines from around 09 w/ about 550 hours.  how many hours on it when you had the motor problems?

Reply:hopes it fixed for you, farmer2.  thanks for the info.
Reply:Couldn't agree more.  Don't care what a vehicle looks like as long as it has good brakes and tires.  Learned that at an early age driving $200 POS vehicles. Reply:250K miles on a gas rig no less. My 6.9 diesel has just now reached its break in point at 270K. It kinda needs a new body around it though...or a welder..where, where I wonder. Anybody have experience doing tig on rust flakes? Originally Posted by M J DAnd low mileage means under 250,000 miles .  My white truck actually looks clean with all the roadsalt on it .
Reply:I used to have a 91 chevy half ton with 425,000 miles on it. I was going to junk it but some kid just out of High School thought that having a POS with a lot of miles was cool. He offered me $500 for it so that was easier than dealing with the scrap yard.Miller xmt304,  Miller S22 p12, Miier Maxstar SD, Miller 252 w 30A, Miller super32p12, Lincoln Ranger 9, Thermal Arc 181I with spoolgun, Hypertherm 10000 ,Smith torches.
