I would like to get ahold of an SA200 pc board for research and reverse engineering. I have a neat little CNC mill that I want to use to make my own boards and maybe make some inexpensive boards for others. If anyone wants to donate one I will pay shipping through PayPal.I would also like to find a nonworking idler solenoid to deconstruct. If you have one please send me a PM and I'll give you my email address.I haven't searched for a schematic of the pc board. That might do as well. If anyone has a source for that please send me info.
Reply:There is no PC Board in an SA200. Atleast the older ones I have worked on.  Not sure about the newer ones.  Unless it has an electronic idler on it and it only controls the idle.  The SA200 is a straight DC generator machine.Last edited by Hammack_Welding; 07-23-2009 at 12:08 AM.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......

Reply:If yours has the electronic idler and board, then you should be able to order the replacement parts for  your machine from Lincoln.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op

Reply:My 77 sa-200 has a PC idler board. You can get a new one for around $40 from Stumpf welding out of IL. their #'s 618-566-4708. I think they changed from a vacuum type idle control to the pc setup in the late 60's or early 70's. I'm looking around the shop to see if I have the old one from my machine. Seems it needs replaced every few years. If I find it I'll pm ya.
Reply:google or read up on a hall effect sensor. that is what a idler board is. It senses the magnetic field around a conductor.
