My name's Eric and I'm not a welder myself. I'm not sure if this is the place to post, so, if there's a better one, please let me know.I've joined this site to help out an old friend of mine who's been welding nonstop since the 1930s. He's nearly 86 and he's got a few tools he no longer needs. They're the following:Famco 3-ton heavy-duty arbor press. It's mounted on hefty metal stand that he welded up himself. The press was made in the USA in the 1940's. He's asking $500.Atlas Pickomatic Metal Lathe, model 10D-247. 10" diameter with 3' working length. Made in the USA around 1950. All components tight. He's asking $1,800.Drill Press: Heavy-duty floor model. It's about 6 feet tall and weighs about 500 lbs. It was orignially used in the Navy Yard, Washington, D.C. during the First World War. It's got a big steel table that drops down several feet. I'm guessing it was made in the USA about 1915. It's powerful and dependable. He's selling it with a set of 40 high-grade taper-shank drill bits up to 1 1/4' in diameter. 3 replacement belts included. He's asking $750.All three machines are in his workshop in Annandale, VA, which is about 15 miles west of Washington, D.C. If you're interested, you can call Emory at 703-354-5680 or me, Eric, at 703-978-4630.You can also e-mail me at [email protected]
