I am really wanting to get rid of this. It is way to big for my shop. I want to replace it with a pan brake from tractor supply half this size. I am asking 1,500.00 obo. I attached 2 pics of it. It bends straight and is tight. Reply:gclamp - do you think that would bend 1/8" aluminum about 4' in length 3003
Reply:I will get a piece from a friend and try it. The brake has enough adjustment to fit 1/8. I bent 1/16 steel all day long with it. I will let you know.Lincoln Ranger 8                        Lincoln 175                          Drill pressLincoln 225 mig                            Plasma                              8 ft brake        52" jump shear
Reply:Ok, I went and grabbed a piece from a friendly competitor down the road. Here are the results of my test. I tried to show a 48" long piece by about 4" wide x 1/8 al. The corners didn't crack, so it wasn't to sharp of a bend for the material. I will say this, It bends alot harder than 16 gauge mild steel. It probably took about 6 bumps to get that bend. The 1st 2 were not real easy, but the rest were ok and the last I was trying to just lightly bump to get to a 90* .... I wouldn't want to do it all day every day, but if I was doing 5 - 10 - 15 bends for a project, or you had 1 guy on each end. Also, If you notice the one picture of the end adjustments, I did a approximate adjustment on it on the right end. If all adjustments were set appropriately, prolly easier. Oh yea, 1 thing I know about apron brakes, a short bend like I did there is harder than having more product sticking out. But I wanted to try a approx 1" bend. as that is a tuff bend and a common over lap for a lap weld. The last pic is the back support shelf for material support when you slide it through the pinch point. Hahaha, I just noticed in the one pic, you can see where my 5 yr old wrote. I Love You Dadee. Have to get a better pic of that before it leaves.
