I found this ladder while looking around on another forum I visit.  It is an aluminum step ladder in 6 or 7 foot height choice that not only folds up flat like a normal every day step ladder, but it also collapses side to side so that it stores in a long square shape of about 4" x 4" x 7 feet long.  This has to be the easiest step ladder to store on a truck ever made.  The price is reasonable too.   I want this thing! Here is a link to the ad with a video of how it works.http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...e-ladders/4850MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:that is cool
Reply:If it were non-conductive, and rated for 300 lbs, it would be perfect.  Although it is convienent, it's not something I'd take on a jobsite. As it stands, I'll have to stay with my fiberglass werner ladder, just in case...Benson's Mobile Welding - Dayton, OH metro area - AWS Certified Welding Inspector
Reply:Does look good and the price seems reasonable...if it is sturdy.I've got a Little Giant ladder that wife bought for me quite a few years ago. When she ordered it and told me what it cost I cringed. But it is very well engineered and sturdy. I been on most any kind of ladder you can imagine through the years and pretty much hated every one of them. But this one is very stable and adjustable. Compact when folded up. A little on the heavy side. We keep it out in the barn with no real special treatment and it held up very good. As was said, most industrial sites won't allow conductive ladders. Be nice if Little Giant or one of the similar designs was made in fiberglass or some other light weight non-conductive material. Reply:it would definitly make it easier to carrie on the rack when you have material too.
Reply:Reminds me of the wooden folding roof ladders the fire department used to use. They were a straight ladder rather than an A type, but IIRC they folded side to side similarly..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:I carry a 16' 200-lb aluminum extension ladder on the truck now.  So far I haven't had any problems using it on jobsites, including gov't building construction sites.  It would be nice if it was fiberglass, but I'm sure it would cost 2-3 times what it costs in aluminum.    Since my ladder sits out in the sun 100% of the time, the fiberglass would break down whereas the aluminum is fine.  The fiberglass would be safer in a ground fault.MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:My brother-in-law carries the 6' one in his fifth wheel camper. It's really handy but not something I would want to use all the time. It's narrow and not the most stable ladder I've ever been on by a long shot.
