Miller Big 40 Diesel tryin to die!!!!

Hey all, Im new here and I hope I put this in the right spot. Well my Big 40 is giving me trouble, dont have the serial number but its a 99 model with the continental.  Was using it as a gen after Sandy went thru when the trouble started. Had been running it 2-3 days on and off, mostly in middle of the day. Kept a good check on the oil and coolant levels as I was running it, since it was 100 deg here everyday. It has the 120v duplex receptacle, was running a tv, sat box, 120v window a/c and fridge, a/c and fridge not at same time. Didnt act like it was struggling with the loads, an all of a sudden it lugged way down and started blowing black smoke out the exhaust, like the amps was turned wide open and air arcing with it. Checked out the situation an seen oil burping out the fill tube/dipstick. I let it cool off, unhooked the leads and extension cords, and started it again, done the samething as soon as it took off.I was told to check the oil breather tube for plugging. Couldnt find one.Someone else said the board was bad, havent checked that yet.Engine sounds fine, just like it normally would when its under a hard loadStill generates power just fine and weldsStill blowin oil out the dipstick as soon as it takes offIt had been setting for probably a year or so untill I fired it up for the genAny Ideas??

Reply:blowing oil from the dipstick is a good sign that you either have a plugged crankcase vent, (look for a tube on the valvecovers) or excessive blowby which could mean a melted piston, broken ring, stuck ring, could also be a bad valve guide letting exhaust gas back into the case (these usually burn oil though)
