For the last few months I've had a vise and large chuck sitting on small pallet near the mill. Pallets are fine when I can get the pallet jack under them... this one was just a little narrow. But it was too sturdy to throw away. So today I decided to put some casters under it and make it into a cart. I bought a bunch of old dumpster casters a while back. big steel ones. Perfect. Two fixed for the back and two swivel for the front. Just like a shopping cart. The sawz-all made quick work of reducing the pallet to a platform. Sixteen carriage bolts later... the wheels were on. Then I started to layout the handle. Decided to make it out of some scrap emt. Hole saw in the mill to notch the tubes. Welded the handle together. And then I realized my plan of mounting the handle to plates above the wheels was flawed because this pallet was actually a re-usable box... so I changed the design to incorporate the box sides. Whipped out some plates on the plasma. Bent them on the press... or should I say over bent them.  Flattened them back out on the arbor press. Rest of the photos in the next post.

Reply:Perfect. I love it when stuff gets re-purposed."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
